SUMMER ROWING SESSIONS FOR YOUTHS HAVE CONCLUDED SUCCESSFULLY
This is the first time RTYC Toronto has ventured out to initiate this kind of sports. Number of children as expected cannot join this time due to delay in posting the opportunity on line. Those who joined the program thoroughly enjoyed it. All of them have graduated to be an experienced hand now. During the five day course, the children were inroduced to the basics of rowing with all the modern facilities available at the Hanlan Boat Club, located east of Cherry Beach.

This is a team spirit. The children learn to work together under the watchful eye of a qualified trainer- Mrs Deborah Cumming
10 am. to 12:45 pm. (why? Because the wind usually picks up in the afternoon )
WHERE DID YOUR CHILDREN TRAINED:
Regatta Road (off Unwin Avenue, just east of Cherry Beach and the Cherry Beach playing fields. The site is very secure with keypad entry at the gate.
WHAT YOUR CHILD LEARNED:The program introduced the participants to the basics of sweep rowing (rowing with one oar.). Boating will be in 8’s and /or 4’s and possibly even doubles, depending on how rowers take to the sport. The program taught some instruction regarding equipment, appropriate warm-ups and fitness work and erging (dryland training on the rowing machines!).
WITH :Instructors are certified by RowOntario (provincial rowing association), are members of
WHOM Hanlan and are rowers themselves. Those operating coach boats are licensed to do so. There is also a program administrator who will be on site at all times during program delivery.
Exams are over and the Summer has come. It is going to be hot. Hot.Hot. TYC understands the pains of long Summer from both perspective as parents as well as youth. This year, though a bit late, we have come out with a never before “A ROWING SESSION” by the fully trained professionals for our youngsters absolutely for free , because we care, we love and we want our youths to be engaged. This is a good opportunity for the children (13-17). There are some conditions. Please read the conditions carefully. Since this is going to be our first test, due to lack of manpower, time and resources, we will be able to accept only 12 children either boy or girl. Right now we are going to hold two sessions. This is first come first serve. For the first two days , the parents are expected to accompany their children for the rowing session located at 16 Regatta Road, Toronto. However, those who cannot ,an executive member from TYC will represent for them. We care for the parents too ! RTYC Toronto will bear two-way transportation cost for all the participants until the completion of training. In return what we expect from you, A good citizen. A good Tibetan. An other Rangzen Sontza. For detail form and application email at torontortyc@gmail.com or by phone 416-557-6014.
